About Stephanie

Stephanie graduated from the University of Minnesota with a bachelor of science degree in geology. During her time at the university she found her passion for teaching and found that it blends her interest in science, environmental issues, and social justice. Stephanie taught for 20 years in diverse schools in the North end neighborhood of St. Paul. While teaching she worked hard to advocate for students for whom traditional schooling systems do not work. She has brought this same passion and advocacy to her work with TRIO working with students as the integrated learning instructor for chemistry. While at the university, she is pursuing a PhD in curriculum and instruction in STEM education focusing much of her work on equity in 6-12 science and engineering education.

While out of school she is a mom of two teenage sons. She enjoys spending time outside walking her dog, canoeing, wilderness travel, and hiking.
